To celebrate the launch of Kat Von D make up line in Sephora Middle East today, I thought it would be great to talk about some of my favorite make up items from the line.
Let me just put it out there that I am a big fan of Kat Von D make up. I absolutely love the quality of their products (all of the ones that I have bought) and the packaging is so gorgeous. I literally nagged my sister to get me these, and eventually converted her in to the world of Kat Von D makeup. She loves them now as well 😉
Lets get into the products, shall we?
Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Liquid Foundation
This is by far my favorite foundation of all time. It is a full coverage foundation, stays in place until you commit to removing it and that is just the way I like it.
I have had this foundation on for about 14 hours – I played with kids, blacked out on the couch for about an hour, took my nieces for swimming classes ( it is 44 degrees in Dubai), I didn’t enter the water though, played some more in the park, got back to my house at around midnight with my make up intact.
It doesn’t transfer o smudge or oxidize.
It is thick and a little goes a long way, just one pump is sufficient for the full face. Just remember that once it sets, it has set.
It comes in quite a wide range of shades, from very light to very deep shades. I use the shade Medium 62.
I must admit that I don’t wear it on a daily basis, but when I need a full on glam look I know this baby will not disappoint.
Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Powder Foundation
This one is medium to full coverage powder foundation, for those who do not like liquid foundation but still need some sort of coverage. it is very finely milled and blends easily on the skin.
It was a bit of a struggle with finding the right shade for me as the shades closest to my skin tone were either too light or too red. I settled for Medium 62, even though I think it is a little red especially around my nose, so I use it around the outer borders of my face.
Kat Von D Shade and Light Contour Palette
This is the mother of powder contour and highlight palettes.
It has three matte contour shades, Sombre (true taupe), Shadowplay (soft brown), Subconscious (deep brown) and three highlight shades, Lucid (pinkish nude), Lyric (yellow beige), Levitation (soft peach).
The powders blend very well and the color range would suit all skin tones. I don’t really have much to say here but..superb job Kat!
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks
These are the best liquid lipsticks in the market in my opinion. I have them in the shades Berlin, Bauhau5 and Outlaw. They are very pigmented, go on real smooth and set into a matte finish.
The colors do not move, or fade (unless you eat something very oily), and they do not dry out your lips at all. It literally feels like there’s nothing on your lips.
All these products are worth checking out, I highly recommend them.
